Mackenzie Jordan

Kenzie is eight months old now and I can not believe it! She is my little "bubbles" and is going to be one in four months, that is too crazy! She started crawling a few weeks ago and by the next day she was pulling herself up onto everything. She loves to stand and explore, is a lot of fun and makes me one happy mommy!

One of Nathaniel's co-workers sent me a song this morning for Mackenzie and it was sweet! It's called "Sweet Pea" by: Amos Lee. It is where I got the idea of my blog title from. Thank you Shandy!

My days are becoming more exciting as Mackenzie learns new things and gets older. She is at a fun age and I love to play with her. She has become so independant although today all she wanted to do was have me hold her which I have to say was amazing. I miss being able to just hold and love on her. One of my favorite games to play with her is "Corn On Cob" and it is when I hold her up and kiss her belly and sides in the motion of eating corn on the cob, silly I know although it makes her laugh and it is too cute! I have been crawling around the apartment with her also. She will sneak away behind the loveseat and I will hide behind it and play peek-a-boo with her and she loves it. We can do that for hours!

I am happy to say that Mackenzie is back on a schedule after months of trying. She will usually wake up at 7:00am and play until 10:30am. She's so funny in the morning too! She takes her naps at 10:30am-12:00pm and 3:00pm-4:00pm. Bath time is around 7:00pm and she is in the bed, asleep, by 8:00pm. It's wonderful, I love having her on a schedule! We are still working on sleeping through the night but she is getting a lot better and depends on the day. It is not as bad as it used to be and that is a happy!

Nathaniel is planning on joining the Navy at the end of September or begining of October. He has to finish up a class at Lake Sumter and take the ASVAB but once that is all taken care of it should be a go. I have so many mixed feelings about it. It is sad to think about all the time he will be away from us and I know it will be hard for him too. I am doing my best to stay optimistic and think of all the good that will come of it. He will be doing a really great thing and be able to go to school without any debt when he is finished. Our finances will become better because we will not have to spend so much on rent and hopefully I will be able to finish school and have daycare if I need it. I am excited to live on base or close by and become part of the Navy community. We have talked about it and if he is able to pick where he is stationed after school, we would like to go to the northeast or northwest. It will be fun and an adventure for all three of us!

I am SO excited for Mackenzie's First Birthday Party!! I have already started to think about it and plan. I am trying to find the perfect cupcake recipe for the big day also. I tried to make a batch of angel food cupcakes but it did not turn out so good. My next project is simple vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting! Yum!
